We gather at Hameed Restaurant at Langkawi Jetty around 1600. We depart from Langkawi with Coral Island 1 feery to Kuala Perlis at 1645 and through out the journey we had a lot of chat about the mountain that we will conquer tomorrow. Unfortunately, the ferry reaches Arau quite late due to the low tide. The problem arises here. We had to catch KTMB train that been schedule at 1623 from Arau but the time now is 1820. We call the station and ask about the train schedule and the result was really frustrated. We decide to take a taxi to Alor Setar in way to catch the train from Alor Setar to Kuala Kangsar, the result still the same. We missed the train for the second time. After discussed with all group members, we decide to take a bus from Alor Setar to Butterworth with the same target, to catch a train at Butterworth that will bring us to Kuala Kangsar.
In the bus everything look okay until one time the bus driver changes the tire due to JPJ requested. We depart from Alor Setar at 2115 after an hour late from the original time (2000). On our way to Butterworth, without having our dinner yet, the bus once again create a problem when the air – conditioner stuck and create some warm sensation to all passengers. We need to wait for more an hour before we can start to move back to Butterworth again. We reach KTM Butterworth at 2340 and the train been reported had depart from Butterworth at 2330. We just 10 minutes late to catch the train. What a day for us. Fushhhhh….
We decide to have a nap at Butterworth KTM Station until tomorrow morning.

We reach Kuala Kangsar at 1115 and wait for others members to join while all of us having our lunch at stall nearby.
We move to Ulu Kenas at 1200 and reach there at 1220. As a leader of the group, I do some ice breaking within the group because some of them still new to the group. After do some ice breaking, simple briefing about the route being delivering to the group. Before we can start to hike, we need to report to the Forestry Department in term of safety and one of the climbing rules.
The journey begins….. 1400, we start from Ulu Kenas hike to our first check point, Lubuk Pacat. It takes around 1 hour to reach the checkpoint. The trail starts with the easy trail using a logging track. From Lubuk Pacat, the trail start to get more to the jungle and our next checkpoint was to Sungai Gading Camp. It should take around 2 hours to reach but we take a wrong trail and reach at the BTN Camp that an hour distances from Sungai Gading Camp. With very high spirit, we move back track and take the right path to Sungai Gading and reach there around 1850. We decide to have our dinner here before move to Anaconda Camp those 2 hours far from Sungai Gading Camp. While having our dinner, we saw a light that come from the other side of the river. There was another group that will join us to Anaconda Camp. We had made a promise to gather an Anaconda Camp but unfortunately…..
Night walk was something that need a person with good skills and knowledge about the area so then the group will not get into trouble while trekking. We take out our entire head torch and start to walk at 2000. The journey takes around 3 hours at night due to the slow movement of the group. We reach Anaconda Camp at 2330. We set our camp here and have a rest.
